Blagojevich, House candidate Hoffman accepted “pay to play” money from transportation contractors, lobbyists

Former state representative Jay Hoffman is the Democratic candidate for the House seat vacated by Tom Holbrook, who was appointed by Governor Pat Quinn to head the Illinois Pollution Control Board. As chairman of the House Transportation and Motor Vehicles Committee, Hoffman and then-governor Rod Blagojevich collected campaign donations from engineering firms bidding on Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) projects.
